The Center for Continuing Legal Education & Extension under the National University of Advanced Legal Studies is an endeavor with the intention of bringing out social problems and creating awareness regarding the same. The Centre aims to create awareness among people on various socio-legal acting as a platform to redress the lacunae in the current laws The center has been active in conducting a number of successful seminars that have gained wide appreciation including those on the impact of alcoholism and drug abuse, "Right to live with Human Dignity - Say no to Drinks and Drugs", maintenance and welfare of senior citizens, seminar on "Drug Trial and Human Rights", which succeeded in raising awareness and suggesting legal responses to the challenges posed by clinical drug trials, seminar on uniform civil code etc. The center in pursuance of its objectives has also been successful in associating with institutions like The Kerala State Legal Services Authority, Bar Council of Kerala, Jananeethi, Cochin Medical College etc.

The seminar was inaugurated by Justice Cyriac Joseph, Judge [Rtd.] Supreme Court of India.
The function was presided over by High Court of Kerala Judge Justice KT Shankaran and the Chairman to the Centre. The registrar of NUALS V Narayana Swami delivered the welcome speech and personalities like Dr MC Valson,Professor NUALS; Dr. V.S. Sebastian, director of SLS, CUSAT Director, Jacob Joseph; Asst Professor at NUALS and Tony Philip, chairman of students council at NUALS felicitated the gathering.
Eminent personalities like Justice John Mathew, Dr Sebastian Paul, Adv Sreelal Warrier, Adv TP Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Adv CK Vidyasagar, Fr George Pulikuthi, Fr Joshi Pothuva and Rahul Easwar presented the classes.

National Seminar on "Drug Trial and Human Rights" in association with Jananeethi Trissur, on August 12. |
The Centre for Continuing Legal Education and Extension of the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) Kochi, in association with Jananeethi, Thrissur, organized a one-day seminar on 'Drug Trial and Human Rights' on August 11 on NUALS campus, Kalamassery.
The seminar was inaugurated by Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan of the Kerala High Court, while NUALS Vice-Chancellor N K Jayakumar presided over the function. Oncologist Dr V P Gangadharan delivered the keynote address.
The semina highlighted the scientific and technical aspects of clinical drug trial vis-a-vis the human rights and legal perspectives. It also dealt with the lacunae in the present system in detail and examined the need for an effective regulative mechanism.
Justice K T Sankaran of the High Court of Kerala and chairman, Centre for Continuing Legal Education and Extension, delivered the valedictory address.

Excise Minister K. Babu inaugurated the Centre for Continuing Legal Education and Extension at National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) campus on Kalamassery on February 15. The seminar on the theme 'say no to drinks and drugs' was also inaugurated on the occasion.
Justice K T Sankaran, Judge, High Court of Kerala and chairman of the Centre for Continuing Legal Education and Extension, delivered the keynote address while N.K.Jayakumar, Vice-Chancellor of NUALS, presided over the function. On the occasion, a medical camp was inaugurated by K G R Mallan, superintendent, Cooperative Medical College.
The seminar sessions where held on Thursday February 16 handled by a number of medico legal experts.
